From Tourist to Local – How to Feel at Home in Spain
You’ve fallen in love with Spain – the sunshine, the lifestyle, the charm of its towns and cities. But what happens when the holiday ends and real life begins?
Welsh couple Jeff and Susan Tree said they could not praise HomeEspaña enough after recently selling their ground-floor apartment in Villamartín, which they had also bought through HomeEspaña as a new build four years earlier.
The Trees (pictured below with two members of the HomeEspaña aftersales team) decided to put their property on the market in October 2022 because they wanted to spend more time at home in Wales and felt they were not getting enough use out of the apartment.
Only two months later, HomeEspaña sold the apartment fully furnished to a Belgian buyer at asking price of €220,000 and the sale completed on 28th February this year.
“Jade did the valuation for us and then Helen took over, but the whole HomeEspaña team were just so supportive. They made us feel confident in what we were doing and nothing was too much to ask for them. They went over and above.”
“When we first bought the apartment with HomeEspaña, they put us in touch with a bank and a solicitor and we carried on with them for the sale as well. Through HomeEspaña we had all the contacts we needed. Any questions we had, we just went to the office and they gave us an immediate answer or solution. I would recommend them 500%.”
The spacious 125m² two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment is located in a gated urbanisation in Los Dolses, which boasts two beautiful communal swimming pools, but it was the location that the Trees really loved.
“We wanted to be on the ground floor and the apartment was just great, so near the shops and restaurants. Everything was within walking distance. We had a car, but didn’t really need it. It was such a pleasure to live there. It just ticked all our boxes.”
Los Dolses is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Spain and enjoys a whole host of services, including supermarkets, bars restaurants and golf courses. The renowned La Zenia Boulevard shopping centre and the white sand beaches of Orihuela Costa are also only a short drive away.
