Irish couple Abi McInerney and Paul Moloney had been visiting Orihuela Costa for about three years before Abi finally took the plunge and bought a two-storey townhouse in Villamartín through HomeEspaña.
“We regretted going back (to Ireland) every time we went back,” Paul admitted, citing the cost of living, the weather and the lifestyle in Spain as the main reasons behind their move.
Abi completed the purchase of the three-bedroom, two-bathroom townhouse on 22nd of May for €122,000 and her and Paul are hoping to move in very soon.
“We’re getting a bit of work done on it, new bathroom, new kitchen… Just upgrading it, that’s all, brightening it up and putting a fresh look on it.”
Paul says they chose the townhouse because it simply had no negatives.
“Where we bought is within walking distance to everything… Mercadona’s round the corner, all the pubs, restaurants, gym… everything is there. It’s just the perfect location really.”
Abi and Paul, who were living just outside the city of Galway in Ireland, first heard of HomeEspaña through Abi’s father, who had bought a property in an urbanisation in Cabo Roig three years earlier.
“He was extremely happy with what they (HomeEspaña) did for him and word of mouth is the strongest form of advertising,” Paul said.
“With Jamie (Sales Director at HomeEspaña) there was no pressure. He just kept us in touch with the market and when we were ready to jump, he was ready to jump with us,” Paul recalls.
And when it came to completing the purchase, he says he cannot speak highly enough of Helen (Aftersales Manager at HomeEspaña) and the Aftersales Team at the Los Dolses Office.
“We needed to get builders in for quotes and to check bits and pieces and nothing was a problem, so we’re extremely happy.”
HomeEspaña also put Abi in contact with its sister company Kyna Insurance who Paul describes as “terrific”.
“So, would I recommend you? I already have!” Paul says. “I have already had people in touch with Jamie. They are selling up in September and he’s keeping in touch with them and they’ll be buying when they come over.”
Abi, who is doing bio energy therapy and oil painting and Paul, who is now setting up his own business in the area, say they have already had a couple of visits and in the future their house will be a destination for quite a few people for sure…
“And rightfully so” Paul jests, “to get out of the rain.”
