The town was designated a UNESCO creative city of gastronomy due to its variety of food, dedication to promoting the Mediterranean diet while still always holding onto their gastronomic traditions. It is home to over 300 restaurants, which prepare diverse recipes. Culinary experts and critics claim that the 49th best restaurant in the world is in Dénia – Quique Dacosta. The International Creative Cuisine Competition of the Red Prawn of Dénia also takes place here. This is an internationally recognised food event where 50 chefs participate in.

The Mount Montgó Natural Park is just a few minutes outside of Dénia. Here, you will find an impressive collection of protected flowers, wildlife and birds such as owls, eagles and ravens. From here you can see beautiful views of the nearby hiking trails.

A visit to the castle in Dénia is a must to see it’s amazing Renaissance architecture. Inside the castle is a museum that you can visit.
