Larry and Lynne Edhouse moved into their new home in the Costa Blanca less than a month after viewing it for the first time, thanks to the help they received from HomeEspaña.
The Edhouses, who relocated to Spain from Northamptonshire, were handed the keys to their detached villa in Vistabella on 22nd December 2015, paying €164,000 for the property, excluding fees and taxes. They were fortunate that HomeEspaña were able to put everything in place for a fast and smooth purchase.
“We only arrived in the Costa Blanca on 25th November,” said Lynne. “We stayed in a friend’s apartment while we started looking for our own place. But we never imagined we’d have bought somewhere and moved in by Christmas!”
Before leaving the UK, the Edhouses had sold their home in Daventry and contacted HomeEspaña, who organised viewings for them on arrival in Spain.
“HomeEspaña were brilliant and we can’t praise them enough,” continued Lynne. “We’d holidayed in the Orihuela area before and knew where we wanted to be, so HomeEspaña found us eight properties to view. We really liked one, agreed a price and let the HomeEspaña team in Playa Flamenca take control. I don’t think we could have done it without them.”
Amongst other things, HomeEspaña assisted the Edhouses with opening a Spanish bank account, getting their NIE tax number, hiring a local lawyer and opening an account with a currency transfer firm.
Just three years old, Larry and Lynne’s villa has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large front terrace and landscaped garden that was well-maintained by the previous owner. The property came largely furnished, including white goods in the kitchen.
“We’re still getting settled but looking forward to having people to stay – we have six grandchildren,” added Lynne. “And it’s easy enough to pop back to the UK and see family, as we can stay with our son.”
