School holidays can’t come soon enough for Giles Taylor, his partner Janet and their two daughters, now that they own a holiday home in the northern Costa Blanca, bought with the help of HomeEspaña.
Giles and Janet chose a semi-detached villa in the village of Murla, located in the countryside between Jalón and Orba, as their holiday home. They completed the purchase in September 2015, after agreeing a price of €87,500.
Originally from the home counties in the UK, the couple now live with their daughters, Ciara and Alanna, and their four dogs in Switzerland. One of the reasons for buying in the Costa Blanca was the ease of getting there by car or plane from their home near Geneva.
“We also like the area because it is less developed than other regions further south,” said Giles. “Our property is in a quiet location but the beach and larger towns are still accessible.”
Giles and Janet were won over by the location and outside space of their property when they first viewed it. They saw around 10 properties with HomeEspaña.
“Our agent was always enthusiastic and only showed us properties that we requested and were within our price range,” added Giles. “He could not have been more helpful and professional. HomeEspaña also took care of setting us up for the sale, such as opening a bank account and getting an NIE. After the purchase, they helped us with finding a locksmith and people to redecorate and do some fencing in the garden. They’re always available to help.”
The family’s two-bedroom property, which they plan to visit four times a year, sits on a 200-square metre plot, with a small garden and covered terrace. They are five minutes from the nearest town and just 20 minutes from the pretty beaches of the northern Costa Blanca.
