This marks a triumphant return to the top for Valencia, which previously held first place in 2022. The survey, which evaluates cities based on factors like quality of life, ease of settling in, and affordability, reflects the experiences of over 12,500 expats globally.

Valencia scored exceptionally high in the quality-of-life category, driven by its Mediterranean climate, stunning beaches, and extensive green spaces. With over 2,600 hours of sunlight annually and an average temperature of 19°C (66°F), the city offers a year-round outdoor lifestyle. Iconic destinations like the Turia Gardens, Albufera Natural Park, and the historic city center enrich its appeal.
2) Ease of Settling In
Expats praise Valencia for its welcoming atmosphere, vibrant culture, and manageable size, which makes navigation straightforward. The city offers a blend of tradition and modernity, reflected in its architecture and events like the annual Las Fallas festival. Many newcomers report feeling “at home” quickly, thanks to the friendly local population and a strong sense of community.
3) Cost of Living and Safety
Valencia’s affordability is another significant draw. Public transportation is efficient and economical, housing remains accessible compared to many other global cities, and the city provides a range of leisure options to suit all budgets.
