Property for Sale in Costa Blanca - Alicante
The Costa Blanca, or ‘White Coast’ stretches for 170 miles along the east coast of Spain, roughly covering the coastal area of the province of Alicante. Costa Blanca property has been popular with second homeowners for over 30 years, with its combination of great weather, gorgeous sandy beaches and affordable properties offering an outdoor lifestyle all-year round. There’s a huge range of properties available – bargain apartments near the beach starting at around €70,000, modern townhouses from €100,000, luxury Spanish fincas with private pools for €500,000+.
Tourism and development is concentrated on the coast – but a short drive inland reveals peaceful villages, small rural towns and gorgeous, unspoilt countryside, with the excellent road network making it simple to get around. There are also dramatic mountains, lush valleys, breathtakingly pretty villages with white-washed houses, modern resorts, golf, water sports, fiestas and festivals, history and culture, food and wine.
Property hunters tend to focus their search on either South Costa Blanca (from Alicante airport down to Murcia) including Torrevieja, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Villamartin; or North Costa Blanca, including Denia, Javea, and the Orba and Jalon Valleys.
Costa Blanca South & The Orihuela Costa
Head south from Alicante airport, and you’ll find miles of sandy beaches, palm tree forests and salt lakes as you travel towards the border with Murcia. A large expat population has settled in the South – particularly around places like Torrevieja, Playa Flamenca and Villamartin. Golfers are spoilt for choice here – with numerous top class, championship courses to choose from.
There is property to suit all budgets, with plenty of bargains, as well as luxury new-build villas and apartments. And if you’re considering letting your home, then 12 months of sunshine and the family appeal of the region make year-round rental a possibility.
Costa Blanca North - Denia, Javea, Orba: the Marina Alta
