[spacer height=”20px”]Mark Sidwell is looking forward to long weekends in Spain with partner Lynn, following his purchase of a Costa Blanca holiday home through HomeEspaña.
Mark completed on his apartment in Los Dolses in March 2017. He viewed the property with Lynn for the first time in October 2016, after which HomeEspaña helped him agree a purchase price of €93,000.
“It was our third trip out to the Costa Blanca to view properties,” said Mark, from Coventry. “We must have done around 14 viewings that visit but nothing was quite right until our HomeEspaña agent, Gert, suggested we see one other apartment. Gert was excellent – he was patient and took the time to understand the finer details of what we really wanted, without ever putting any pressure on us. Well, when we saw that apartment, Lynn and I knew immediately it was the one!”
Mark’s apartment has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a balcony, accessed by a bedroom and the living area. It comes with underground parking and storage, as well as access to the communal swimming pool. What really stood out for the couple was the apartment’s location.
“We’re not overlooked at all,” said Mark, who previously owned an apartment in the nearby Pau 8 urbanisation, so knows the Orihuela Costa area well. “From our balcony, we look onto trees as opposed to other apartments, which is lovely. At the same time, we’re not far from Villamartín Plaza for going out. And getting there from home is easy – Coventry is a short train ride away from Birmingham Airport, which has lots of flights to Alicante. Then the transfer to my apartment is around 45 minutes.”
Mark is also complimentary about HomeEspaña’s customer service, both during and after the purchase process. He said: “Helen there was great at keeping both me and the vendor in the loop, especially as I had a slight delay securing funds from the UK to complete the purchase. They also helped us open a bank account, accompanied us to the notary and referred us to a currency transfer firm, who were very professional. And when I was concerned there was an issue with the air con in the apartment, they arranged for an engineer to visit and service it. All along it felt like nothing was too much trouble for them, in fact, it felt like I was part of the HomeEspaña family!”
Los Dolses is a popular residential area, conveniently located between Villamartín and La Zenia. Villamartín Plaza, especially busy in the evenings, is typically just 15 minutes’ walk away, but Los Dolses also has two smaller commercial areas, namely Los Dolses Plaza and La Rioja. The area is also convenient for the championship golf courses at Villamartín, Campoamor and Las Ramblas, while the closest beaches are at La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Playa Flamenca and Campoamor. The airport at Murcia-San Javier is less than 30 minutes away.
