Meet the team - Veerle Deurloo

This month, we welcome new member of staff Veerle Deurloo, who joins us in the Costa Blanca North, working in the Sales team, across our Calpe, Denia and Benidoleig branches.

Originally from the Netherlands, Veerle has been working in real estate in Spain for over a year. We caught up with her to see how she’s getting on…

Veerle Deurloo

Hi Veerle, welcome to HomeEspaña!

When did you first visit Spain, and when did you make the move permanent?

I moved to Spain about 18 months ago.  My parents had brought me here on vacation every year since I was a baby!  From a very young age I said “I want to live here when I’m older”. I finally did that now and I’m very happy with my choice.

What do you enjoy most about living and working in Spain?

I used to think I idealized life in Spain, but now I live here, I can confirm that isn’t the case! Living with a holiday feeling alongside ‘real-life’ and work is an ideal combination.

You seem to be able to enjoy life more here. The days feel longer, excellent climate, beautiful nature, sea and beach, delicious food and Spanish culture. Working and living in Spain is the best thing there is.

My work is very varied; I’m helping buyers to find their dream home, and I get to see a lot of the region, get to know everything and I am always on the road with different, interesting and friendly people.

What are your favourite things about where you live?

My favourite aspects of this region are that you have two very nice cities within easy driving distance – Alicante and Valencia – plus along the coast all the beautiful beaches.

Going further inland is also great for a day out. I discover new beautiful areas to walk with my dogs almost every week.

Which HomeEspaña office do you work in?

I’m usually out with clients, touring them round our lovely region and showing them the properties that might suit their requirements. And when I’m not, you can usually find me in either our Calpe or Denia office.

How often do you return to the Netherlands?

I almost never go back to the Netherlands at the moment. I have my life here now – and my friends and family always visit me here!

Thanks Veerle, glad to have you as part of the HomeEspaña family!
