Clever use of technology helped HomeEspaña match David and Norma Price with a holiday home in the Costa Blanca, without the couple needing to leave the UK.
A new partnership between HomeEspaña and international payments specialist Currencies Direct has helped raise €4,000 for good causes in Spain.
Jamie Percival, Managing Director of the HomeEspaña offices in La Zenia, Los Dolses and Los Alcázares, said “When joining forces with Currencies Direct in 2018, we made a promise to support good causes locally. We hit upon the idea of a charity competition, whereby all of our branches would compete to win prizes for their chosen local charity”.
HomeEspaña and Currencies Direct staff began raising money at the end of 2018, and in January, Jamie and his team were proud to present a cheque for €2,000 to Murcia charity Aidemar.
Founded in 1982, and based in San Javier, Aidemar’s mission is to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families, looking after more than 500 adults and children on a daily basis.
Aidemar has two day centers, a special education center, a center for child development and early care, a special employment center, a job placement service with support and a residential service, as well as support programs for families.
Jamie said: “We are delighted to be giving this money to a very worthy charity in Aidemar, who do an amazing job of looking after children and adults with disabilities.”
The competition also extended to HomeEspana offices in the northern Costa Blanca and in Valencia, and a further €1,000 was raised for Calpe charity “Make a Smile”.
Founded by Tony Grande (pictured above-centre with Chris Solomon from HomeEspaña and Paul Harrison from Currencies Direct), and run with his wife Lucy Rowat Grande and other generous volunteers, Make A Smile ensures food and shelter for local children in need.
Passionate about tackling inequality, Tony and Lucy donate much of their time to raising funds, with the aim of improving the lives of underprivileged and vulnerable adults and children.
HomeEspaña and Currencies Direct work together to ensure buyers and sellers of Spanish property receive a first-class service, both with their property purchase and also when sending funds out of Spain after a property sale. Both companies have committed to supporting charities in Spain as part of this new partnership – watch this space!
